Molly entered the shelter with a double whammy; she was a senior and heartworm positive.  Last Fall, Molly was included in a Senior Dog Special to help promote her adoption.  Even so, heartworm is an expensive and difficult treatment regimen, with dogs undergoing the treatment needing special care.  But Molly won the heart of Haley, a recent WIU graduate, who adopted and cared for Molly through a successful completion of her heartworm treatment.  Molly loves ‘dressing up’ and attending athletic events at the district in which Haley teaches.

Haley: “I just LOVE having Molly and I’m so thankful for all that you have done.  I could not provide for her (medical expenses) if it wasn’t for the Humane Society’s help.  Thank you.”
